As part of the “Sustainable Healthy Environment” initiative, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at King Abdulaziz University, in partnership with Green Closet Company and the Saudi Society for Environmental Sciences, and in collaboration with the University’s General Administration of Social Responsibility and Community Service, launched today (Wednesday, September 17, 2025) a charity clothing exhibition to support underprivileged families. The exhibition runs until Thursday evening (September 18) and was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Adel bin Abdullah Al-Qurashi, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.

The initiative seeks to distribute more than 1,500 items of clothing as part of a broader effort to recycle over three tons of used garments and turn them into a valuable resource for the community.

Organizers emphasized that the exhibition underscores the importance of fostering a culture of environmental sustainability and charitable work by linking recycling with support for the most vulnerable—delivering both environmental and humanitarian impact.

Mr. Sami Awwad Al-Sulami, General Supervisor of the “Sustainable Healthy Environment” initiative, noted that the exhibition is part of a wider series of programs and activities designed to raise awareness of sustainable resource management, strengthen social solidarity, and highlight the vital role of educational institutions and the private sector in serving the community.
